![]() This vehicle was a fully-fledged, armed, and armored tank that could go toe-to-toe with enemy armor if needed. Unlike many other command tanks, including other command modifications of the Panzer III, the turret-mounted 50mm cannon was fully functional and not merely a dummy gun. ![]() It could be identified by the large star antenna mounted at the rear of the vehicle, not present on other Panzer III variants. The Panzer III K fitted a large array of radio equipment to allow for coordination of tank units in battle. They were modified from Panzer III L and M hulls. K was a dedicated command tank variant of the Panzer III, designed and built in late 1942/early 1943. ![]()
